The Chatsworth/Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce and American Red Cross (ARC) have created the perfect partnership to coordinate the Annual Summer Givin’ Blood Drive.  Summer Givin’ is a summer long series of Blood Drives hosted by local businesses to provide beneficial service to our community.

The majority of ARC blood comes from both High Schools and Colleges; therefore, the blood supply is greatly depleted when they go on Summer and Winter break. Not only does the Summer Givin’ campaign save lives during a critical time for the blood supply but it enables the Chamber and its members to establish new relationships with the companies and organizations in the community.

We are looking to our local businesses, community organizations and faith groups to help during this time.  Some might think summer a difficult time of year to organize a drive as many of their donors are on vacation. They fail to realize that even the smallest turnout is better than no turnout at all.  Local businesses are encouraged to host a Blood Drive, or join with other nearby business to host one together; members of the community are encouraged to donate at any of the participating locations.

We are hoping that this Campaign will help bring awareness of the need for blood over the summer and make donations more convenient for donors who will come out and give the gift of life.
