Gov. Schwarzenegger Commends Cal-Tax for Supporting his Compromise Budget Proposal



Governor Schwarzenegger today issued the following statement in response to Cal-Tax’s vote to support his compromise budget proposal:

“It’s clear that this is a difficult budget year that presents tough choices, so I commend Cal-Tax board members for having the courage to put the best interest of Californians first in supporting my compromise budget proposal. I am proud to stand with Cal-Tax in acknowledging my compromise budget is the most fiscally responsible option because it does not simply kick our budget problems down the alley and create a more costly situation in coming years – it addresses our broken budget system and puts California on the track to live within its means. It’s time for legislators to follow the lead of Cal-Tax, as well as local elected officials, local law enforcement, business leaders, members of the health care community and more in supporting and passing my budget compromise proposal.”
