President's Message
Half the year has passed. Now is the time to reevaluate the marketing that you do for your business. Has it worked for you? are you marketing to the correct people .. the decision makers?? I would fathom a guess that some of the marketing has gone well, some OK, but mostly it has not brought you the returns you wanted. Well I have a simple and very inexpensive solution to that problem. If you belong to a Chamber, get involved. If you don?t belong, join.
At a recent networking luncheon attendees had the opportunity to let more than 40+ people hear specifically about their businesses and services. They also had fun doing it. The ability to personally pitch your business to a captive audience has always been the most successful type of marketing. At our monthly Chamber luncheons you can mingle with 45+ companies that could use your services.
As we all know the more often you get your company name out to the world the greater chance you have of people using your goods or services. Where else could you, for only a $25 sponsorship, have hundreds of local businesspersons see your name for 4 ? 5 hours? Chamber members prefer to do business with other Chamber members. Chamber membership also offers benefits beyond marketing. You can have a platform to discuss Legislative issues that may affect you personally and in your business. Chamber membership gives you access to community leaders and legislators on a one on one basis.
So I will echo my theme for the year. Get involved!! Of course you know the best Chamber in the region to join or get involved in is the Chatsworth / Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce. We not only help increase your business we have fun doing it.

The Chamber would like to congratulate and thank V.P, Membership Jenny Gosselin, Jano Graphics, and her team of Ambassadors, Affie Bahar, City National Bank, Wendi Day, BodyWise International, and Stephen Oliver, Chem-Dry Anytime for the wonderful networking lunch they designed and presented at our June General Membership Meeting Luncheon. Joyce Mertens, Sisco Home Electronics, also on the Ambassador committee was unable to attend the luncheon.

Mega-Mixer

Chatsworth/Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce is joining with 30 Los Angeles area Chambers of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureaus to bring together business and professional people representing hundreds of different industries, companies, and corporations throughout Southern California to provide the ultimate networking experience.
The fifth annual L.A.?s Largest Mixer V will be held Thursday, July 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Los Angeles Center Studios, 450 South Bixel Street (between 3rd and 6th Street) in Los Angeles.
The mixer, which is open to all business people, is $15 per person. Parking is available at the Los Angeles Center Studios, located south of the main studio entrance on Bixel Street.
Each participating chamber will have a booth with representatives to answer questions about their organization.
The goal of the mixer is threefold. Primarily, it is to encourage membership in several chambers of commerce, allowing businesses to grow based on a wider network of support. Many business people don?t realize the benefits of joining more than one Chamber.
?We firmly believe in partnering with other groups and associations that share our same interests in facilitating prosperous business relationships for a stronger Los Angeles area economy,? said Allen Glazer, Alpha Lex Systems Integration, Chamber President. ?This mixer offers a tremendous opportunity to do just that.?
The mixer also provides a chance for businesses to network with each other for mutual support. Businesses and individuals do not have to be affiliated with a Chamber to attend and the event is open to the general public.
Lastly, vendors will have an opportunity to-promote their business with a tabletop, offering samples of their products and services. In addition, 25 Los Angeles area restaurants will be on hand to provide tastes of their specialty dishes.
?We have noticed a significant bump in business each year we have attended,? stated Penny White, Director of Sales for the Radisson Wilshire Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. ?It is a ?planned-on? event for us each year.?
