Matadors Community Credit Union Celebrates 50th Anniversary with
Member Celebration Day Saturday, April 20, 2013
As part of a year-long celebration, Matadors Community Credit Union (MCCU) is hosting a Celebration Day for its members and the community. The Celebration, on Saturday April 20th, will begin at 9:00am and end at 1:00pm, and will be held in the credit union’s Chatsworth branch parking lot at 20045 Prairie Street.
MCCU invites families to attend, even if they aren’t currently members of the credit union. There will be free food, kid’s entertainment, a door prize raffle, and a special auto loan promotion for that day only. The raffle prizes – generously donated by local businesses – include an iPad Mini, gas cards, restaurant gift certificates and more.
The Chatsworth/Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting, commemorating the golden anniversary at 11:30pm.
“At MCCU, we pride ourselves on our outstanding service and wide range of affordable financial products and services,” states MCCU President & CEO Dale Verderano. “We have amazing deals on auto loan refinances and will offer a special rate to anyone who applies for an auto loan on April 20th. We invite everyone to join us for a day of fun!”
MCCU began operations in 1963 on the Cal State Northridge (formerly San Fernando Valley State College) campus. Over the years, the credit union has opened up its membership to anyone who lives or works in the San Fernando, Simi or Santa Clarita Valleys.
Today, MCCU has two branches, in Chatsworth and Northridge. The Credit Union has been awarded Best Bank/Credit Union by the readers of the Los Angeles Daily News four times, most recently in 2012! The Credit Union remains financially safe and sound, continually receiving high star ratings from Bauer Financial. MCCU currently has $140 million in assets and serves almost 12,000 members.
